In honour of International Women’s Day I decided to share a card that I have posted in my work space. I bought the card at Paper Nation my favourite paper store in Abbotsford. Also, I would like to share a poem my sister sent me today:

Mettika

Though I am weak and tired now,

And my youthful step long gone,

Leaning on this staff,

I climb this mountain peak.

My cloak cast off, my bowl

overturned,

I sit here on this rock.

And my spirit blows

The breath

Of liberty.

Therigatha poems, 6th century BCE Original in Pali. Translated by Uma Chakrabarti and Kumkum Roy, in Women Writing 600 BC to early 20th century. Edited by Susie Tharu and K. Lalita (originally from Shree Mulay)

BEST WISHES FOR A WONDERFUL INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!  Elizabeth-Anne
