    • Consider the quality of their portfolio, social proof, transparency, and experience.
    • At the very least, your designer should be easy to reach to answer questions without charging you for their time during the design and launch process.

2. Website Content

    • The amount of content and size of your website will affect the cost of your website.
    • Behind the scenes features like: Search Engine optimization, image optimization, and site maps, all take extra time that you can’t see when you view a website. In a way, you could call them “hidden costs” that are integral to the success of your website.

3. Additional Website Features

    • E-commerce, payment integrations, pop-ups, call to action buttons, and forms all take extra time and will increase the cost of your website.

A well-designed website can grow with your business so you can start with what you can afford. I use WordPress to build my websites which allows for easy expansion. Plus, when I build a site, I always name content blocks so that anyone can look at the wireframe, know what they are looking at, and edit or update the website more efficiently.
